What are the red flags of an AI trading claim?
Guaranteed returns and win rates
Any promise of guaranteed profit, a fixed monthly return, or a high win rate is a red flag. Markets carry irreducible risk, and no honest method removes it. Precise performance numbers presented without a verifiable, independently audited track record should be treated as marketing, not evidence.
No mention of risk or losses
Honest material about market methods talks openly about risk, drawdowns, and the real possibility of loss. Material that only shows winning examples, hides the losing periods, or avoids the word risk entirely is telling you something by what it omits.
Secrecy and pressure
A secret algorithm that cannot be explained, urgency to sign up now, and testimonials in place of audited results are classic warning signs. A legitimate research approach can at least describe its method, its assumptions, and its limits in plain language.
